Robin Seitz, Trumpet


A long way from his birthplace of Leuggern, Switzerland, Beaverton’s Robin Seitz is in his third year with the orchestra.


Robin is a Sophomore at the Beaverton Arts and Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) and currently plays with the Alan Jones Academy of Music, and the Portland Youth Philharmonic as well as being a member of the Pacific Crest Orchestra and Pacific Crest Combo II.


Durning his 7 years of playing trumpet, Robin has performed with a variety of groups including the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Jazz and Concert Bands, the ACMA Jazz Orchestra, and the Purple House Jazz Orchestra.


Robin is currently studying with Fred Sautter, Thara Memory, Adam Rapa and Alan Jones, and has previously studied with Paul Mazzio.


In 2009, Robin was awarded a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music Summer Camp, in addition

to winning 2nd place at the National Trumpet Competition.  2008 honors include selection as a semi-finalist at the National Trumpet Competition and the Outstanding Musican Award at the Clark College Jazz Festival.  Robin also was selected as a semi-finalist at the National Trumpet Competition in 2007 and was named Most Improved Musician with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Jazz Band in 2005.


In addition to trumpet, Robin also plays the drums.
